Festival Basics
ANIMALS
Please don’t bring your dog, cat, bird, ferret, snake, goat or emu to the Festival. On a warm July day, they’ll be much happier under a shade tree at home than in the middle of a Festival crowd. Animals that are not assisting those with disabilities are prohibited from Festival events by law.
Violators will be prosecuted.
RESTROOMS
To answer nature’s call, portable toilets are conveniently located throughout Festival venues, especially in the Festival Plaza, the Marketplace and Junk Food Alley.
The Festival’s clean-up crew appreciates your help in keeping these areas clean.
WHEELS
There is no bike riding at the Festival, but you’re encouraged to avoid traffic and get your exercise by riding your bike to the Festival. When entering an area such as Freimann Square, the Market Place, Junk Food Alley or the Downtown Midway in Headwaters Park, we ask that you walk your bike through the crowds. The Festival crowd will be much happier if you also leave your inline skates and skateboards at home.
PARKING
Parking is available at a variety of public and private lots throughout downtown. In most cases, expect to pay a nominal fee for parking. Go to the Map Link to see downtown parking areas. Parking for Children’s Fest at IPFW is free. Three Rivers Festival tip: Lutheran Health Network Parade goers and the Fireworks Finale fanciers should plan to arrive downtown early to beat the road closings.
FIRST AID
We encourage all Festival goers to prepare for a day at the Festival by wearing comfortable shoes, drinking plenty of liquids, and applying sunscreen to any exposed area. Basic first aid services (bee stings, minor cuts/scrapes, heat exhaustion, etc.) will be available in Headwaters Park East. Also, look for the bicycle paramedics riding through Festival who are available to assist in emergencies.
TRASH
Please help keep Festival grounds neat and clean by using the trash receptacles located throughout Festival venues. Let’s keep our All-American City clean and inviting!
LOST & FOUND
Please keep careful watch over your children and belongings. If you have misplaced something, check at the Information Booth in the East area of Headwaters Park. If you find something, it is just as important that you turn items in at this location. If you have lost someone, check with local Police Officers or contact a Festival representative. We recommend that you plan ahead to have a predetermined meeting point in case your party gets separated.
VOLUNTEERING
Having so much fun that you want to get involved? We are always in need of enthusiastic volunteers to assist behind the scenes, year round! Print a Volunteer Application from our website, or call the Festival office at 426-5556, and you’ll be on your way to being a part of Fort Wayne’s favorite summer celebration!
SOUVENIRS
Look for official Three Rivers Festival Souvenirs at your favorite Festival venue. From hats, T-Shirts, tote bags, sunglasses and collectible Festival Buttons, we’ve got some great mementos that will keep you smiling all summer long!
